News of a new 8-inch Galaxy Note has been heard for some time on the web, which clearly indicated a rumor that Samsung did not want to be left behind and therefore did not want to let the middle-range tablet segment to its competitors. Although Samsung has been among the first manufacturers to introduce tablets with mid-range size with the Galaxy Tab 7.0, the tablet market really take off only in late 2011. Is it because of the fact that the Amazon Kindle made its debut and knew a strong success ?
The next year, in 2012, the Google Nexus 7 came out, Amazon Kindle Fire came out, and finally the much awaited Apple iPad Mini has shown his beautiful plastic and given to very strong demand it has sold nearly eight million units in the last quarter of 2012.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 will have a "S Pen" stylus which is sensitive pressure and housed in a slot specially provided for this purpose on the device. For the moment, we know very little about the specifications of the Galaxy Note 8.0 but sources close to Samsung say that the device will have a 8-inch screen, of course, which will provide a resolution of 1280x800 on a TFT panel . It will run Android 4.2 with a 1.6Ghz quad-core processor supported by 2GB of RAM.
Note the 8.0 will be a little larger, not much, than the Apple iPad Mini. While the iPad Mini measures 200x134.7x7.2 mm and weighs 308 grams, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will measures 211.3x136.3x7.95 millimeters and weighs 330 grams.
This new tablet will be Samsung opportunity not to yield any ground free to Apple on the tablet market. The legal battle between the two companies do not, however, prevent fierce battle in terms of innovation.
